How to Identify First Citizens Text Messages

At First Citizens, making sure your money and account information are secure is our first priority. Knowing when and how we send you text messages can help you identify fraudulent messages.

How we send text messages

We use 5 and 6-digit number codes—not 10-digit phone numbers—to send text message alerts related to activities or transactions on your account. Here are some frequently used text code numbers to be aware of:

How to reduce your risk

Steps you can take to minimize risk

  • Never click on suspicious links in texts or emails.
  • Save the above codes to your contacts and give them a unique label so you'll know when we're sending you a text message.
  • Don't share your account information, user IDs, passwords or other sensitive information through text, email or with an unsolicited caller.
  • Enroll in First Citizens Digital Banking text and email alerts to help you keep on top of your account activity.
  • Never give your Digital Banking Secure Access Code, or SAC, to anyone.

If something looks suspicious or you're just not sure if a communication is legitimate, please call us at 888-323-4732 or visit your local branch. And remember that we'll never text, email or call you to request security codes or other sensitive personal information.
