Requirements

Merchants are required to submit an attestation of compliance annually.  Guidelines are set by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to ensure that members, merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit cardholder data are following best practices to reduce credit and debit card fraud, and security breaches. These standards were established by the major credit card brands (Visa®, Mastercard®, American Express®, Discover® and Japan Card®) to demonstrate compliance with the PCI DSS.
