+What is First Citizens Text Banking?

With First Citizens Text Banking, you can access your account balances and recent transactions and find branches and ATMs anytime, anywhere by sending simple text commands to First Citizens at ASKFCB (275322) — no smartphone required.

To use Text Banking, activate Text Banking from the Mobile tab within Personal Online Banking, then send any of the below text message commands:

  • BAL: Request account balances
  • HIST: Receive a summary of the last few transactions
  • BRANCH, ATM: Find banking locations near you
  • MORE: Receive additional account history or banking locations, depending on your recent requests
  • HELP: Receive a list of the text commands you can use
  • STOP: Unsubscribe your mobile device from First Citizens Text Banking
+Are there costs associated with using First Citizens Text Banking?
First Citizens does not charge fees to download or use the First Citizens Mobile Banking app, First Citizens Mobile Web, or First Citizens Text Banking. However, fees may apply for using services in Mobile Banking. Your mobile carrier may charge for data and text message usage. Check with your carrier for more information.
+What do I need to use Text Banking?
You just need a First Citizens Personal Online Banking username and password and a mobile device with text messaging capability.
+What are account nicknames?
Account nicknames are short names for your bank accounts to help make text banking simple and easy. Instead of having to remember your full account numbers or account types/names, you can simply use short, easy-to-remember account nicknames. Default nicknames will be given to your accounts, and you can change them to make them easier to remember from the Mobile tab in Personal Online Banking. Short, simple nicknames with fewer than 10 characters are recommended.
+How do I use Text Banking?

Simply send short text commands to ASKFCB (275322) to get the information you need:

  • BAL: Request account balances
  • HIST: Receive a summary of the last few transactions by texting HIST, followed by the account nickname you want to view (i.e. HIST check1)
  • BRANCH, ATM: Find banking locations near you by city, state, zip code or street address by texting BRANCH OR ATM, followed by your search criteria, separated by a comma and space:
    • BRANCH Raleigh, NC
    • ATM 4300 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC
  • MORE: Receive additional account history or banking locations, depending on your recent requests
    • If your most recent request was transaction history of an account, texting MORE will provide you with additional transactions
    • If your most recent request was to find banking locations, texting MORE will show you the next two First Citizens banking locations that meet your criteria
  • HELP: Receive a list of the text commands you can use
  • STOP: Unsubscribe your mobile device from First Citizens Text Banking
+How do I enroll in Text Banking?

First Citizens Personal Online Banking customers can enroll two ways:

  • Log in to Personal Online Banking, select the Mobile tab, and follow the enrollment instructions to register and activate your device for Text Banking.
  • iPhone® and AndroidTM Mobile App users can register and activate Text Banking by selecting the "More" button in the app, choose "Register for Text Banking", enter your mobile phone number and follow the activation instructions.
