Switch Express®

Switching to First Citizens is easy and secure. Everything you need is right here, with clear, step-by-step instructions. And if you have any questions, just give us a call or ask for help from your local First Citizens bankers.

1. Open a new First Citizens checking account.

Find which checking account is right for you, then call us or talk to your local banker to open your new account.

2. Switch your direct deposits.

Fill out our Notice of Change of Direct Deposit form. Then mail a copy to each company that makes a direct deposit to your old account, alerting them to switch to your new First Citizens account.

3. Switch your automated payments.

Fill out our Notice of Change of Automated Payments form and mail a copy to each company that drafts automated payments from your old account.

4. Close your old account.

Using our Account Balance Worksheet, balance your old checking account so that you know exactly what's available for deposit into your new First Citizens checking account. Then fill out the Account Closing Authorization form and mail it to your old bank to notify them that you're closing your account and to direct the funds to your new account.

It's that easy! Once you've switched your account to First Citizens, sign up for free Digital Banking with Bill Pay. All you need to get started is your new checking account number and your Visa® Debit Card.

Forms require Adobe Acrobat Reader1.
