People often ask us

There will be no immediate changes and you should continue banking at your usual office location.

For now, all of the features of your accounts will remain the same. Over the coming months, Gwinnett Community accounts will be converted to First Citizens products. You'll be notified in writing about any changes to your accounts.

You should experience no disruption in this service. If you have any questions about your loan account, please contact your Gwinnett Community loan representative.

Contact a representative at any of the Gwinnett Community office locations during normal business hours. Call 770-476-2775 between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday through Thursday or 9 am and 5 pm Friday ET. For questions about First Citizens Bank, call the First Citizens Customer Care Center at 888-323-4732 between 7 am and 11 pm ET daily.

Your direct deposits will continue as usual, including Social Security payments. If you need to change anything in the future, please contact or visit your Gwinnett Community Bank office location to make those arrangements.

Yes. You should keep using your existing Gwinnett Community Bank checks and cards. Once the conversion process is complete in the coming months, you'll receive a new debit card and checks.

Yes. Your deposit with our Gwinnett Community Bank division is insured by the FDIC, and each depositor is insured to at least $250,000, as established by law.

There are special provisions that allow a depositor to receive insurance at both institutions for a period of time.

According to the FDIC publication, "Your Insured Deposits”:

"When two or more insured banks merge, deposits from the assumed bank are separately insured from deposits at the assuming bank for at least six months after the merger. This grace period gives a depositor the opportunity to restructure his or her accounts, if necessary."

"CDs from the assumed bank are separately insured until the earliest maturity date after the end of the six-month grace period. CDs that mature during the six-month period and are renewed for the same term and in the same dollar amount (either with or without accrued interest) continue to be separately insured until the first maturity date after the six-month period. If a CD matures during the six-month grace period and is renewed on any other basis, it would be separately insured only until the end of the six-month grace period."

You should continue to make your loan payments as agreed. You may continue to make your payments at Gwinnett Community Bank offices or through online banking.
