May 7, 2001
GREENSBORO, N.C. -
First Citizens Bank will open a new branch Wednesday, May 9, inside the Lowes Foods store in the New Garden Crossing shopping center. The in-store branch, located at 1581 New Garden Road, Greensboro, will be the bank's 13th office in Guilford County.
"First Citizens is pleased to open a new branch in this growing area that will allow us to expand our banking relationships with new and existing customers," Area Vice President Bill Happer said. "This new in-store office will provide a full range of financial services while offering customers a great location and expanded banking hours."
Office hours will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday.
The branch will hold a grand-opening celebration with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. on May 23. Officials from the Greensboro Area Chamber of Commerce will join bank executives, local board members and customers at the event.
Visitors to the New Garden office can register to enter a drawing for one of two gas grills. Entrants do not need to be present to win. The winners will be selected at 6 p.m. on May 23.
"The grand opening is one way we can welcome people to our new branch and show our appreciation for our customers," said Market Executive Andy Putnam. "Our team is looking forward to putting our customer-first brand of banking to work for people in this area."
Jim Reed, who also manages the office inside the Lowes Foods in the Cardinal Shopping Center, will serve as the financial services sales manager for the new branch. Nekita Robinson is the financial services representative. Judie Bullins, who also works at the Cardinal office, is teller supervisor, and Anisa Johnson will serve as teller.
The new in-store branch includes office space, a full-service ATM and a night depository.
